Human Cathepsin K ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Human Cathepsin K ELISA kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cathepsin K in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate with an antibody specific for Cathepsin K, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Cathepsin K Antibody, HRP-Avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate solution. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450nm.

The reported product range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.065 ng/ml, and the assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader. It is a sandwich (quantitative) assay performed on a pre-coated microplate platform (12 x 8 well strips) with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and should not be used past the expiration date.

Recovery from serum (n=5) ranges from 80%–102% with an average of 91%; from EDTA plasma (n=5), 81%–100% with an average of 90%; and from heparin plasma (n=5), 80%–89% with an average of 84%. Dilution linearity is reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma.
