Human Cathepsin E ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cathepsin E in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a biotinylated anti-Cathepsin E detection antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction yields a yellow product whose intensity is proportional to Cathepsin E concentration and is measured by absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Performance characteristics quoted by the manufacturer include a sensitivity of <0.124 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, with a total run time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported spike-and-recovery values are 80%–102% (average 91%) for serum (n=5), 81%–100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 80%–89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma (n=5). Dilution linearity across the 1:2 to 1:16 range is documented for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated.
