Human Cathepsin D ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cathepsin D in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The capture antibody is a mouse IgG, and the kit is configured for use with a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Cathepsin D. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and Cathepsin D present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-Cathepsin D antibody is added, followed by HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate solution. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and the Cathepsin D concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of <14.38 pg/ml and an assay range of 46.8-3000 pg/ml. Sample recovery in serum is 80-102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma 81-100% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma 80-89% (average 84%). The pre-coated plate is supplied as 12 x 8 well strips, and kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated.
