Human Cathepsin A ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cathepsin A (also referred to as Protective Protein/Cathepsin A/PPCA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) to capture the target analyte, with detection via a Biotinylated Anti-Protective Protein/Cathepsin A/PPCA antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used for colour development; the reaction is stopped with an acidic stop solution and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader. The standard curve product range is 0.312-20 ng/ml, sensitivity is 0.103 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the stated expiration date.

Manufacturer-reported validation: recovery in serum (n=5) averaged 91% (range 80%-102%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) averaged 90% (range 81%-100%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) averaged 84% (range 80%-89%). Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions was reported as follows: serum (n=5) 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101%, 92-97%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101%, 79-108%; heparin plasma (n=5) 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105%, 89-91%.
