Human Cathelicidin Antimicrobial Peptide ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cathelicidin/CLP (Cathelicidin Antimicrobial Peptide). The kit uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the target analyte binds to an immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-Cathelicidin/CLP antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration of Cathelicidin/CLP is calculated by reference to a standard curve. The product range is 0.156–10 ng/ml and the sensitivity is 0.062 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Suitable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported average recoveries are 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
