Human Catechol-O-Methyltransferase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative in vitro measurement of human Catechol-O-Methyltransferase (COMT) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The pre-coated 96-well microplate, configured as 12 x 8 well strips, uses a biotinylated anti-COMT antibody with HRP-avidin detection, visualised by TMB substrate that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

The assay range is 0.156-10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.058 ng/ml, and the complete protocol runs in 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery testing (n=5) gave averages of 91% in serum (range 80-102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81-100%), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80-89%).
