Human Catalase ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Catalase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an antibody specific for Catalase. Standards and samples are incubated in the wells, where Catalase is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Catalase Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The HRP enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm and the Catalase concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

Reported performance figures include a sensitivity of <0.133 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Validation reported average recovery of 91% (range 80–102%, n=5) in serum, 90% (range 81–100%, n=5) in EDTA plasma, and 84% (range 80–89%, n=5) in heparin plasma. Dilution linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
