Carbohydrate Antigen 50 (CA 50) is a sialylated glycolipid tumor-associated antigen first characterized by Lindholm and colleagues in 1985 using the C-50 monoclonal antibody. Elevated circulating levels are reported in pancreatic adenocarcinoma and several gastrointestinal malignancies, and CA 50 is frequently evaluated alongside CA 19-9 because it remains informative in Lewis-negative phenotypes where CA 19-9 expression is absent. This Antibodies.com 48T kit provides quantitative measurement in human research specimens, with analyte concentrations interpolated from a calibrated standard curve. Reconstituted standards and detection antibody should be refrigerated; protect reagents from light, and aliquot the concentrated wash buffer to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The kit ships with a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detector, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and calibrator set sized for 48 determinations.
