Human Calpain, Small Subunit 1 ELISA Kit

The assay employs a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a Calpain Small Subunit 1-specific capture antibody immobilised on the plate. Bound target is detected using a biotinylated anti-Calpain Small Subunit 1 antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; the resulting yellow product is read at 450 nm and is proportional to the amount of Calpain Small Subunit 1 present in each well.

Manufacturer-reported figures include a sensitivity of 0.133 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml. Mean recovery is 91% for serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 91% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–101%) and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%), with linearity data reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for each of these sample types. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes, and kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as indicated.
