Human Calpain 1, Large Subunit ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com comes a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative in vitro determination of human Calpain 1. The kit is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a pre-coated microplate format with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm.

Reported sensitivity is 0.58 ng/ml, with a standard curve range of 1.56–100 ng/ml prepared by serial dilution from a 100 ng/ml stock. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, employing a biotinylated anti-Calpain 1 detection antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; absorbance is read on a microplate reader.

Recovery has been characterised in serum (average 91%; range 80–102%, n=5), EDTA plasma (average 90%; range 81–100%, n=5) and heparin plasma (average 84%; range 80–89%, n=5). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions falls broadly within 74–108% across these matrices.
