Human Calcitonin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Calcitonin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for Calcitonin pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and samples are added, and captured Calcitonin is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Calcitonin Antibody followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The colour reaction is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and quantified against a standard curve.

The assay has a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 4.47 pg/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Spike-and-recovery performance averaged 91% in serum (n=5, range 80%–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%–99%), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Linearity upon dilution from 1:2 to 1:16 was demonstrated across the same sample types.
