Human C Reactive Protein ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human C Reactive Protein. The assay is compatible with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

An antibody specific for C Reactive Protein is pre-coated onto a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to the wells and the target present in each sample is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-C Reactive Protein Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of C Reactive Protein captured in each well. The concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The assay has a product range of 0.156-10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.057 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery has been validated in serum (80%-102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%-100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80%-89%, average 84%, n=5). Dilution linearity has been assessed across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
