Human Brain Natriuretic Peptide ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with human samples and is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. BNP in standards and test samples is captured by an antibody immobilised on the plate, then detected with a Biotinylated Anti-BNP Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The signal is developed using TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and the BNP concentration is calculated from the standard curve.

The product range is 31.2-2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <12.6 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Reported recovery ranges are 80%-102% in serum (n=5, average 91%), 81%-100% in EDTA plasma (n=5, average 90%), and 80%-89% in heparin plasma (n=5, average 84%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
