Human Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. An antibody specific for BDNF is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, captured BDNF is detected with a biotinylated anti-BDNF antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate, and the reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a yellow product proportional to BDNF concentration. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colourmetric microplate reader and concentration is calculated against the standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m. The stated product range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.075 ng/ml.

Sample recovery data: serum average 91% (range 80–102%, n=5), EDTA plasma average 90% (range 81–100%, n=5), heparin plasma average 84% (range 80–89%, n=5), with linearity demonstrated at dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.
