The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique using a 96-well pre-coated microplate, a biotinylated anti-BMP10 detection antibody, HRP-avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate for a colorimetric readout at 450 nm. It is reactive with human samples.

Quantitative performance includes a standard curve spanning 0.156-10 ng/ml, with a reported sensitivity of <0.058 ng/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m, and absorbance is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm against the standard curve to determine BMP10 concentration in each sample.
