Human BMP-7 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, this Human BMP-7 ELISA Kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human BMP-7 in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma.

The assay is based on a quantitative sandwich technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for human BMP-7 is immobilized onto microwells, and standards or samples are pipetted into the wells. A biotin-linked detection antibody specific for BMP-7 is then added, and BMP-7 present is bound by the immobilized antibody and the detection antibody during the first incubation. After removal of any unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added for a second incubation. Following addition of substrate solution, color develops in proportion to the amount of BMP-7 bound by the immobilized antibody; the reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured by microplate reader.

The kit can assay both native and recombinant human BMP-7 and has shown no significant cross-reactivity. Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 2.06 pg/ml, an assay range of 7.81 - 500 pg/ml, and colorimetric detection on a microplate platform. Average recovery from serum samples is 98%. Components are stored at +4°C and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
