Human Bcl2 Associated X Protein ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) supplied by Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Bax (Bcl2 Associated X Protein) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples.

The kit uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for Bax is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and Bax in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Bax Antibody binds the captured Bax, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and Bax concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

Sensitivity is reported as <0.35 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.781–50 ng/ml. Recovery has been characterised in serum (average 91%), EDTA plasma (average 90%) and heparin plasma (average 84%). Total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Kit components should be stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
