Human Ataxin 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Ataxin 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses an antibody specific for Ataxin 1 pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and bound by the immobilised antibody, after which a Biotinylated Anti-Ataxin 1 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate are added in sequence. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of the stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration of Ataxin 1 is calculated from the standard curve.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.089 ng/ml and a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, with colorimetric detection on a standard microplate reader. Recovery has been reported in serum (80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81–100%, average 90%), and heparin plasma (80–89%, average 84%). Linearity data across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 are provided for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
