Human Apolipoprotein M ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Apolipoprotein M (Apo-M) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. It uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for Apo-M is pre-coated onto the wells of a microplate. Standards and samples are added, and following incubation and washing a Biotinylated Anti-Apo-M Antibody is applied, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow on addition of the acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the Apo-M concentration is calculated against the standard curve.

The stated sensitivity is <0.113 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate of 12 x 8 well strips, detection is colorimetric, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the product must not be used past its expiration date. Reported average recovery for spiked samples is 91% (range 80–102%, n=5) in serum, 90% (range 81–100%, n=5) in EDTA plasma, and 84% (range 80–89%, n=5) in heparin plasma. Linearity data are also reported across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for each sample type.
