Human Apolipoprotein C4 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Apolipoprotein CIV in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. It is supplied as a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm. The total assay time is 4 h 30 min.

The assay uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format. An antibody specific for Apolipoprotein CIV is pre-coated onto the plate, and standards or test samples are added so that the analyte is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Apolipoprotein CIV Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow on addition of the acidic stop solution. The concentration of Apolipoprotein CIV is determined from the absorbance at 450 nm by reference to a standard curve.

Stated sensitivity is 37 pg/ml and the assay range is 78.1–5000 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery data give average values of 91% in serum (range 80%–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, n=5). Kit components are stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its stated expiration date.
