Human Apelin ELISA Kit

This competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Apelin in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with Apelin antigen: during incubation, Apelin in samples or standards competes with a fixed amount of immobilized Apelin for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Apelin Antibody. After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are added; the resulting colourmetric signal is inversely proportional to the Apelin concentration and is read at 450 nm on a microplate reader.

Key specifications include an assay range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.13 pg/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and the total assay time is 2h 30m. Readout is performed on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.

Recovery has been validated in serum (80%–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81%–100%, average 90%), and heparin plasma (80%–89%, average 84%), with dilution linearity demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 across all three sample types (n=5).
