Human Apelin 13 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Apelin 13 in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The microplate is pre-coated with Apelin 13 antigen, and Apelin 13 in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Apelin 13 antibody. After washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are added; the resulting yellow product, read at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to Apelin 13 concentration.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 37.2 pg/ml and an assay range of 125-8000 pg/ml. Total assay time is 2 hours 30 minutes, and the plate is read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Sample recovery in spiked serum averaged 91% (range 83% - 100%, n=5), in EDTA plasma 96% (range 90% - 103%, n=5), and in heparin plasma 95% (range 89% - 102%, n=5). Linearity of dilution has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated and not used past the stated expiry date.
