Human Apelin 12 ELISA Kit

The kit targets the 12-amino acid C-terminal fragment of preproapelin, a bioactive cleavage product that engages the APJ receptor (APLNR) and is widely studied in cardiovascular, metabolic, and angiogenic research pathways.

The assay uses a competitive immunoassay configuration in which a labelled apelin-12 tracer competes with endogenous peptide in standards and unknown samples for binding to an apelin-specific capture antibody immobilised on the plate. After washing, an enzyme conjugate is added and developed with a substrate solution, with absorbance read on a standard microplate reader. A standard curve generated from serial dilution of the human apelin-12 calibrator allows interpolation of unknown sample concentrations.
