The format uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, and the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique, in which analyte present in samples or standards competes with a fixed amount of immobilized Angiotensin 1-7 antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Angiotensin 1-7 antibody.

Following incubation and washing, an HRP–avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are added; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and the resulting yellow colour is inversely proportional to analyte concentration, which is then calculated against a standard curve. The stated product range is 7.81–500 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 3.48 pg/ml, and the total assay time is approximately 2 h 30 min. The kit is for human reactivity, and recovery/linearity data are provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.
