From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Androgen Receptor in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. Reactivity is specific for human samples, and the assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate platform with colorimetric detection at 450 nm.

A capture antibody specific for Androgen Receptor is immobilised on the plate, and bound analyte is detected with a biotinylated anti-Androgen Receptor antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. The HRP reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the intensity of yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Androgen Receptor captured in each well. The reported assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.115 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4 °C or -20 °C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.

Sample recovery has been validated in serum (range 80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81–99%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (80–89%, average 84%), each tested with n=5. Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 has also been assessed for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.
