Human Amyloid Beta Peptide 1-42 ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA kit from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Amyloid beta Peptide 1-42 in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay is run on a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. During incubation, peptide present in samples or standards competes with immobilised antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Amyloid beta Peptide 1-42 antibody, and detection uses an HRP-avidin conjugate with TMB substrate. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader; signal is inversely proportional to peptide concentration, which is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is <4.75 pg/ml and assay range 15.6–1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 2 h 30 min. Recovery in serum (n=5) ranges from 83% to 100% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) from 91% to 99% (average 95%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) from 90% to 99% (average 94%); dilution linearity is reported for 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same sample types.
