Human Aldehyde Dehydrogenase, Mitochondrial ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human ALDH2 (Aldehyde Dehydrogenase, Mitochondrial) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which standards and samples are added; ALDH2 present in each sample is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-ALDH2 antibody binds the captured target, and an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, yielding a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the colour intensity is proportional to ALDH2 concentration and is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The quoted assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.078 ng/ml, and the standard assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with mean recoveries of 91%, 90% and 84% respectively (n=5 per matrix), and dilution series of 1:2 to 1:16 are supported across all three matrices.
