Human Alcohol Dehydrogenase 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Alcohol Dehydrogenase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to wells where the target is captured by an immobilised antibody; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Alcohol Dehydrogenase Antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate are applied. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader with the concentration calculated against a standard curve.

According to the manufacturer's product literature, the detection range is 1.56–100 ng/ml, the sensitivity is 0.72 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. The capture antibody is raised in rabbit (IgG isotype). Quoted recovery values include an average of 91% for serum (range 80%–102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
