From Antibodies.com, this Human Alanine Transaminase ELISA Kit (also referred to as the Alanine Aminotransferase ELISA Kit) is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Alanine Transaminase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an immobilised antibody specific for Alanine Transaminase. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Alanine Transaminase Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, and the resulting yellow product is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The reported product range is 0.312-20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.132 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and should not be used past the expiration date.

Reported average recovery values are 91% for serum (n=5, range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%-100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%-89%). Dilution linearity values at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 are 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97% for serum (n=5); 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91% for heparin plasma (n=5).
