Human Activin A ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Activin A in cell culture supernatant, serum, and plasma. The assay uses a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay format in which a monoclonal antibody specific for human Activin A is immobilised onto microwells. Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for Activin A. After incubation and washing, streptavidin-HRP is added; substrate reacts with HRP and colour develops in proportion to the amount of Activin A bound. The reaction is stopped with acid and the optical density is measured by a microplate reader.

The kit detects both native and recombinant human Activin A and shows no significant cross-reactivity. Sensitivity is 2.23 pg/ml and the assay range is 93.75 - 6000 pg/ml. Average recovery from serum samples is 90%. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
