Human Actin Gamma 2, Smooth Muscle ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Actin Gamma 2, Smooth Muscle (ACTG2) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate with an antibody specific for ACTG2. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-ACTG2 detection antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that becomes yellow after the addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and ACTG2 concentration is calculated from the standard curve. The reported assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.053 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Kit components are stored at +4 °C or –20 °C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.

Spike-and-recovery averages across n=5 are 92% for serum (range 85–100%), 94% for EDTA plasma (range 85–103%) and 93% for heparin plasma (range 87–99%). Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same n=5 set shows recoveries broadly spanning 72–110%, with sample-type-specific ranges detailed in the product specification.
