Human Acid Phosphatase 5, Tartrate Resistant ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Tartrate Resistant Acid Phosphatase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique with an antibody specific for the target pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a biotinylated anti-Tartrate Resistant Acid Phosphatase antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualize the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with the yellow intensity proportional to the amount of Tartrate Resistant Acid Phosphatase captured in each well.

The concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve. The kit reports a sensitivity of <0.121 ng/ml, a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 h 30 min. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Recovery performance in spiked samples was reported with averages of 91% in serum (range 80%–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, n=5), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, n=5).
