Human Acetylserotonin-O-Methyltransferase ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Acetylserotonin O-Methyltransferase (ASMT) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate with an antibody specific for ASMT. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where ASMT binds to the immobilized capture antibody. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-ASMT Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of ASMT captured in each well, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The reported assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.067 ng/ml. The total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes, with detection performed on a colourimetric microplate reader.
