Human Acetylcholinesterase ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Acetylcholinesterase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids [C0, S1]. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate format with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm [S1].

In the assay procedure, standards and samples are added to wells pre-coated with an antibody specific for Acetylcholinesterase. After incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-Acetylcholinesterase detection antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Acetylcholinesterase captured in each well [S1].

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.51 ng/ml and a quantitative assay range of 1.56-100 ng/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes [S1]. Validation recovery data show averages of 93% in serum (range 85-101%), 92% in EDTA plasma (range 86-99%), and 94% in heparin plasma (range 87-101%), each measured with n=5 [S1].
