The Antibodies.com Human ADAM33 ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human ADAM33 in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The kit reports a sensitivity of <0.068 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156-10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m performed on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for ADAM33 is pre-coated onto the microtiter plate, and standards or samples are added so that ADAM33 is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-ADAM33 Antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added and catalysed by HRP to produce a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution; the absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to the amount of ADAM33 in each well.

Reported mean recovery values (n=5) were 91% (range 83-100%) for serum, 95% (range 91-99%) for EDTA plasma and 94% (range 90-99%) for heparin plasma.
