Human 5-Methyltetrahydrofolate Homocysteine Methyltransferase ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human MTR in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an antibody specific for MTR. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a biotinylated anti-MTR detection antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added; the resulting colour change, read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, is proportional to the amount of MTR in each well, with concentration calculated by reference to the standard curve.

The reported sensitivity is 0.115 ng/ml and the quantitative range is 0.312-20 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated per item, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date. Manufacturer validation data (n=5) report mean recovery of 91% (range 80-102%) for serum, 90% (range 81-100%) for EDTA plasma, and 84% (range 80-89%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported across serum (87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101%, 92-97%), EDTA plasma (90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101%, 79-108%) and heparin plasma (84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105%, 89-91%).
