The test uses an antibody specific for HSD17B14 pre-coated onto a microplate, with a biotinylated anti-HSD17B14 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. Signal is generated using a TMB substrate and quantified colorimetrically at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

The assay provides a sensitivity of 0.048 ng/ml and a quantitative range of 0.156-10 ng/ml, with a total run time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.
