Guinea Pig Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of guinea pig Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF beta 1) in serum, platelet-poor plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate and a colourmetric readout measured at 450 nm in a microplate reader, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes.

The standard curve covers a product range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of <7.6 pg/ml. Recovery has been validated in serum (average 91%, range 83%–99%), EDTA plasma (average 89%, range 80%–99%), and heparin plasma (average 90%, range 82%–99%). Linearity upon dilution at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 was also demonstrated, with serum values of 87–109%, 74–104%, 90–94%, and 86–108%; EDTA plasma values of 86–101%, 90–101%, 78–110%, and 84–96%; and heparin plasma values of 90–101%, 77–107%, 93–96%, and 89–109%.

In the assay, standards and samples are added to wells pre-coated with an antibody specific for TGF beta 1. Captured analyte is bound by a biotinylated anti-TGF beta 1 antibody, followed by incubation with HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to TGF beta 1 concentration. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit is not to be used past its expiration date.
