Guinea Pig Nerve Growth Factor ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of guinea pig nerve growth factor (NGF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) together with a biotinylated anti-NGF antibody and HRP-avidin conjugate, with bound NGF visualised using TMB substrate. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and NGF concentration calculated against a standard curve.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 0.059 ng/ml and a standard curve range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a stated assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery in validation testing is 80%–102% (average 91%, n=5) in serum, 81%–100% (average 90%, n=5) in EDTA plasma and 80%–89% (average 84%, n=5) in heparin plasma.
