Guinea Pig Interleukin 8 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of guinea pig Interleukin 8 (IL-8). The kit is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where IL-8 is captured by an immobilised antibody. Wells are then washed and incubated with a Biotinylated Anti-IL-8 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader, and IL-8 concentration is calculated against a standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

The assay covers a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 6.8 pg/ml. Reported average recovery is 91% for serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%). Components supplied include the pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solutions A and B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers.
