Guinea Pig Interleukin 5 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of guinea pig Interleukin 5 (IL-5) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for IL-5 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate, and the assay uses a Biotinylated Anti-IL-5 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit is reactive with guinea pig samples, with a stated product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 6.4 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and detection is colorimetric on a pre-coated microplate platform comprising 12 x 8 well strips.

Recovery in spiked samples ranged from 80–102% for serum, 81–100% for EDTA plasma and 80–89% for heparin plasma, while linearity across 1:2–1:16 dilutions gave recoveries of 74–107% for serum, 79–108% for EDTA plasma and 82–105% for heparin plasma. Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard, detection solutions A and B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, to be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated.
