Guinea Pig Interleukin 4 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of guinea pig Interleukin 4 (IL-4). The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Detection is performed on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

The workflow follows a standard sandwich format. An antibody specific for IL-4 is immobilised on the plate; standards and test samples are added and IL-4 present in each sample is bound to the wells. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-IL-4 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then added to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of IL-4 captured and is quantified against the standard curve.

According to the manufacturer, the standard curve spans 1.56–100 pg/ml with a reported sensitivity of 0.57 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
