Guinea Pig Interleukin 1 Alpha ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of guinea pig IL-1 alpha in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate onto which an anti-IL-1 alpha capture antibody has been immobilised; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-IL-1 alpha Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. Bound IL-1 alpha is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 6.6 pg/ml and an assay range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery performance averaged 91% in serum (range 83-100%, n=5), 96% in EDTA plasma (range 90-103%, n=5) and 95% in heparin plasma (range 89-102%, n=5). Dilution linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
