Guinea Pig Endothelin 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of guinea pig Endothelin 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with Endothelin 1 antigen. Endothelin 1 in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Endothelin 1 antibody. After washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added and visualised with TMB substrate; absorbance is read at 450 nm, with concentration inversely proportional to OD and calculated from the standard curve.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 7.81–500 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <2.82 pg/ml, with the assay completed in 2 hours 30 minutes. Reported spike-and-recovery values average 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 returned overall ranges of 74–108% across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
