Goat Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of goat tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for TNF alpha; standards and samples are added, followed by washing and incubation with a biotinylated anti-TNF alpha antibody. HRP-avidin conjugate is then added, and TMB substrate is used to visualize the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and concentration is calculated from a standard curve.

The kit has a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 5.9 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery in serum (n=5) ranged from 80%–102% with an average of 91%; in EDTA plasma (n=5) from 81%–100% averaging 90%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) from 80%–89% averaging 84%. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
