The assay is specific for goat reactivity and uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips.

The product range is 0.312-20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.128 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and quantitative results are obtained by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The detection reaction uses a TMB substrate that yields a yellow-coloured product after addition of acidic stop solution. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.

Validation across sample matrices (n=5 each) shows average recoveries of 91% in serum (range 80-102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81-100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80-89%). Dilution linearity testing at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions yields recovery ranges of 74-107% in serum, 79-108% in EDTA plasma and 82-105% in heparin plasma.
