Description

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of goat interleukin 1 alpha (IL-1 alpha). The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and is run on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Detection uses a biotinylated anti-IL-1 alpha antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The product range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <7.1 pg/ml, and total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Supplied components include a pre-coated 96 well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), lyophilized standard (2 vials), detection solutions A and B (120 µl each), 30X wash buffer (20 ml), sample dilution buffer (45 ml), TMB substrate (9 ml), stop solution (6 ml), and 5 adhesive plate sealers, with storage at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit is not to be used past its expiration date.

Reported recovery across n=5 samples was 80%-102% for serum (average 91%), 81%-100% for EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80%-89% for heparin plasma (average 84%). Linearity was tested at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with serum recoveries of 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101%, and 92-97% respectively; EDTA plasma recoveries of 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101%, and 79-108%; and heparin plasma recoveries of 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105%, and 89-91%. The kit is specific for goat IL-1 alpha.
