General Vitamin B9 ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Vitamin B9. The microtiter plate is pre-coated with Vitamin B9 antigen; during incubation, Vitamin B9 present in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Vitamin B9 Antibody. After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added, followed by TMB substrate solution to visualise the enzymatic reaction as a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Yellow intensity is inversely proportional to Vitamin B9 concentration, calculated from O.D. absorbance at 450nm against a standard curve.

The assay has universal reactivity and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with readout on a colorimetric microplate reader. Reported product range is 3.9-250 ng/ml with sensitivity of 1.23 ng/ml and a total assay time of 2h 30m. Recovery performance has been demonstrated in serum (range 80%-102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (range 80%-89%, average 84%, n=5). Linearity has been evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across the same sample types.

Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
