General Vitamin B1 ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (competitive ELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of Vitamin B1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique using a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. During incubation, Vitamin B1 in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Vitamin B1 antibody; bound antibody is then detected via an HRP-avidin conjugate, with TMB substrate producing a colour change that is read at 450 nm using a microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <2.7 ng/ml and the assay range is 7.81-500 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 2h 30m.

Recovery has been demonstrated in serum (range 80-102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 81-100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (range 80-89%, average 84%, n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
