General Vitamin A ELISA Kit

A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Vitamin A in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm, with a total run time of 2 hours 30 minutes and a sensitivity of <0.03 ng/ml across a stated quantitative range of 0.156–10 ng/ml.

Vitamin A present in samples or standards competes with immobilized antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Vitamin A antibody. After washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added and the reaction is visualised using TMB substrate, yielding a colour change that is inversely proportional to the Vitamin A concentration in each well. Recovery has been validated in serum (80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81–99%, average 90%), and heparin plasma (80–89%, average 84%).
